Creating The Right Ad

Your ad may be your prospect's first impression of your business - let's make it the best one.

The first thing you need to decide is what type of ad you want to create. There are three major types of ads:

Awareness AdAwareness Ad

These ads are good for raising awareness of a new business or heightening your company image. Often, this type of ad pitches who you are, what you do and where you're located. Awareness ads are better for businesses with little to no seasonality that can afford to advertise for longer periods of time.

Limited Time Offer or Event Limited Time Offer or Event

These ads focus on sales or seasonal events that can bring in foot traffic or increase your phone calls during your event.

Call-to-Action Call-to-Action

A call-to-action ad is often the most practical for a local business. It usually encourages the customer to: “call now,” “stop by,” or “visit our website” … and rewards them with a discount, gift, or special offer for prompt action.

Building Your AdBuilding Your Ad

Whether you're using TV, radio, online, or any other form of advertising your ad must present the quality and image you want to project to your target audience, as well as concisely state your key benefit to your customer.  Crafting this message correctly is crucial to success.

What tone will your customers respond to?  Clear and direct is nearly always effective, however does your ad need to be humorous, dramatic, emotional, or sentimental?

Why should your prospect choose you instead of your competition? If you can only present a single benefit, what is it? Move your consumers to take action — have them come to your location, set up an appointment, visit your Web site, or think of you first when they are in the market for the products or services you offer.

Be sure to include information about how a customer can reach you — either by phone, Web site, eMail or all of the above.

At the end of the day, an extremely clever ad won't work if the viewer doesn't remember who you are, what you’re selling, why you’re different or better, and how to contact you.

Contact RainMaker for a free consultation, and let’s create the right ad to keep you a step ahead of your competition, your cash register ringing, and your customers coming back for more.
